Day 1
Mancora
Arrival in Mancora
After the two-hour flight from Lima to the Piura or Tumbes airport, you are met for the private transfer to your luxurious and laidback beachside resort (also approximately 2 hours). Relaxation is almost immediate as you step into your suite at Las Pocitas beach in Mancora. You may choose to unwind by the pool or make your way immediately to the magnificent beach. Or, this arrival day may be perfect to indulge in a spa treatment at the hotel’s ocean-view spa: reflexology, massage, hydrotherapy, and body treatments are available.
Enjoy a welcome drink in the poolside lounge, candles flickering, before a dinner of fresh seafood at the hotel’s fine dining restaurant.

Awakening to the Pacific views from the private balcony of your suite, after breakfast, you embark on a half-day boat trip along the coast of Mancora (snorkel gear is provided), where wildlife sightings may include South American fur seals, dolphins, marine turtles, and colorful blue-footed boobies, among others. In the “winter” months, from August to October, you may spot Humpback whales, on their migration to these shores in search of warm waters for mating and birthing. The boat drops anchor in a protected bay for some refreshment and a swim, and, conditions permitting, if you want to snorkel, getting you as close as possible to the best “lows”—the cluster of rocks found close to the ocean’s surface with the most accessible and fascinating underwater sea life.
Returning to shore in the afternoon, you are again free to luxuriate at your hotel, perhaps with a spa treatment, or simply unwinding by the beach or pool. Other optional activities (with arrangements made by the hotel and at your expense) are horseback riding on the beach, and, depending on the season, surfing or kitesurfing, which take place at Mancora’s famous point with qualified instructors. Later, you are free to enjoy dinner and drinks at your hotel, or in one of the many bars and restaurants of the nearby town.
