Davos

overview

As your family climbs via cable car up to the summit of Mt. Rinerhorn—staring down at grassy mountain fields and immortal rock outcroppings—it’s easy to see exactly what makes Davos so magical. Above you, the peaks of impossibly tall Alpine pinnacles stretch into the distance. Below, a lush valley of adventure spreads before you, waiting for all of you to experience it. From your conveniently central four-star hotel in Davos, you can enjoy whatever strikes your and your loved ones’ fancy, be it sailing or swimming on the lake, gondola rides to hypnotic waterfalls, tobogganing down mountainsides, or family picnics in spots taken right out of the pages of “Heidi.” Enjoy brandishing skewers at a family fondue dinner. Hike through emerald cow pastures past larch-roofed chalets and color-splashed fields of irises. Visit artisanal chocolate shops in Davos. Thanks to the efficient genius of Swiss public transportation, you have easy access to the entire region with a single pass (which we provide)—so there are virtually no logistical obstacles between your family and a great time together.

Dinner is typically a lavish four-course affair. Expect to sample exquisitely presented dishes such as cheese roulade with a zucchini and wild mushroom sauce, or red mullet served with olive ravioli. A delicious home-baked strudel tops off the meal.

When you’re not walking, your centrally located hotel is ideally situated to enjoy Davos, Europe’s highest-altitude city and one of its oldest mountain resorts, with geranium-decked streets and tempting outdoor cafés. Additional activities within walking distance of the hotel include sailing and windsurfing on Lake Davos (15-minute walk from the hotel) and a varied program of musical events throughout the summer.
