Your safari begins with a flight from Nairobi’s private Wilson Airport to Tortillis airstrip in Amboseli National Park. Meet-and-greet services will soon have you comfortably ensconced at Tortillis Tented Camp. After lunch, experience the thrill of your first game drive in Amboseli.

Amboseli is best known for its local elephant population and unrivaled views of Kilimanjaro. There are over 1,000 elephants in the park’s ecosystem, featuring some of the largest specimens in Africa, and other plentiful game.

As the sun sets, enjoy exclusive sundowner cocktails before majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, followed by dinner.

The day is yours to explore as you wish. Perhaps an early morning Maasai-guided nature walk before or after breakfast. Or a morning game drive in the park – an International Biosphere Reserve featuring the dry lake-bed of prehistoric Lake Amboseli, rolling savannah, and lush green swamps. On the plains you may sight antelope, spotted hyena, jackal, warthog, olive baboon, vervet monkey... and even an elusive lion, leopard, or cheetah. Observation Hill, a conical peak, is easily climbed to attain stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After lunch (which can be taken as a picnic lunch on safari), enjoy your afternoon with another game drive, a guided nature walk, or both–all are inclusive. Another exciting option is a cultural interaction at an authentic Maasai village where warriors greet visitors with displays of dance and song.

Sundowner cocktails, which can be taken on safari or in the camp’s Rondavel Bar, are followed by dinner and an evening relaxing at camp.

After breakfast, a flight from Amboseli to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport will connect you with your flight to the Samburu National Reserve. Immediately on arrival, you will be swept into the beauty of the area with a brief game drive en route from the airstrip to Joy’s Camp.

After lunch at the camp, you are invited on an exclusive game drive in the Shaba Reserve. Vast, magnificent, and still largely unexplored, Shaba displays an evocative mix of uniquely contrasting habitats, from stark cliffs and boulder-strewn scarps to lush swamps and muddy sandbanks. Across the habitat roam large prides of lion and herds of elephant. Return to camp in time for a swim in the refreshing pool. Sundowner cocktails can be enjoyed at leisure on your private veranda, in the camp’s panoramic bar, or at a scenic location in the bush. After dinner, evening at leisure.

Take the whole day to explore the riches of Shaba. Your options include morning, afternoon, and night game drives; guided nature walks; and cultural visits. Shaba’s dramatic landscape features rocky battlements, dry riverbeds, and extensive thorn shrub against a backdrop of distant hills. The wildlife is equally varied, this being one of the few sanctuaries for endangered Grevy’s zebra, rare Beisa oryx, and blue-shanked Somali ostrich. Large elephant herds roam the hills. Depending on your choice of adventures, breakfast and lunch can be taken in camp, or enjoyed as a picnic in the wild.

End this special day with sundowner cocktails in a scenic bush location, arriving back at camp for dinner. If the spirit moves you, a night game drive can be taken after dinner.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your direct flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Your guide will welcome you and bring you to Saruni Mara Camp.

After lunch, there’s time to relax or spring right into action with a guided nature walk or game drive in this world-famous reserve. An abundance of buffalo, reticulated giraffe, and other herbivores makes the Mara ideal hunting grounds for the famous “big cats.” The reserve hosts Kenya’s largest population of lions and offers the best chance of finding a leopard. Other predators include cheetah and spotted hyena.

Take a full day to explore the wonders of the Mara. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered, as are guided nature walks and ornithological tours. Lunch can be taken “on safari” if you wish.

Teeming with wildlife, the Mara is famous for the large herds of elephant and buffalo that meander its plains; also for the fat pods of hippo that wallow in its mud-brown rivers. Other stars include the distinctive Masai giraffe, plum-colored topi, Coke’s hartebeest, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, zebra, impala, Kirk’s dik-dik, bushbuck, waterbuck, and red duiker. The reserve also boasts plentiful Nile crocodile, monitor lizard, baboon, vervet, blue- and red-tailed monkeys, nocturnal bush babies, and tree hyrax. Bird-watchers will delight in more than 550 resident and migratory species of birds.

After a farewell breakfast in camp, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your return flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. There you will be met and escorted either to a city hotel or directly to the international airport depending on your flight schedule.
